The supply chain of the aeronautical sector meets in Málaga

  • TEDAE has organized the conference “Aeronautics, a sector with a future,” which brought together more than 25 companies.

The annual conference of the Spanish supply chain, organized by TEDAE and under the title “Aeronautics, a sector with a future,” was held today at the Málaga TechPark and brought together more than 25 companies.

At the beginning of the meeting, David Hernández, Head of Program Purchasing at Airbus in Spain, spoke about the outlook for the aeronautical sector.

The meeting included a round table discussion on the “Challenges of the Aeronautical Supply Chain” moderated by Juan Román Gallego, Managing Director of Andalucía Aerospace, with the participation of José Ignacio Ceballos, Vice President of Supply Chain at Aernnova; Teresa Escolano, Supply Chain Director at Alestis, and Gaztea Laiseca, Head of Supply Chain Fabrications and Raw Materials at ITP AERO.

For her part, Gemma Ortiz de Barrón, coordinator of TEDAE’s Supply Chain Committee and director of Institutional Relations at Aernnova, presented the results of the questionnaire “Price Impact on the Aeronautical Supply Chain.”

The conference highlighted the importance of having a scenario of certainty and continuity in the funds allocated to the Aeronautical Technology Plan beyond 2024, with a specific item in the General State Budget, as is the case in countries with a leading aeronautical industry.

Likewise, the effort that the companies of the Aeronautics industry have made in the year 2021 to preserve their competitiveness and talent has also been highlighted. According to the figures of the recent report published by KPMG, the sector’s turnover amounted to more than 8,100 billion euros (25% in Andalusia) generating direct employment of 34,000 people (36% in Andalusia).

This conference brought together fifty executives from the main companies in the sector, including Airbus, ITP Aero, Aernnova, Aertec, Cimpa Spain, Clue Technologies, Europavia, Escribano Mechanical & Engineer, Inventia Kinetics, Mades, MTorres, Tecnaclia and Tecnobit, as well as representatives of the clusters Aera, Andalucía Aerospace and Hegan.
