Malaga TechPark attends the 39th IASP World Conference in Seville

 

  • The Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE) and its member parks will attend from tomorrow the 39th World Conference of the International Association of Science Parks and Innovation Areas (IASP), which will be hosted by the Cartuja Science and Technology Park in Seville until 30th September under the theme “Green and digital change driven by innovation: The role of innovation ecosystems,” to highlight the leadership of these ecosystems in the face of the threats of climate change

 

More than 400 representatives from science and technology parks, innovation areas and companies and organisations from all over the world, including Málaga TechPark, will debate during four intense days on the major challenges facing us as a result of climate change and how to tackle them through digitalisation and innovation.

The panel of speakers is made up of 69 experts in the field, including 16 Spaniards: Sergio Oslé (Telefónica España), Elisa García (Airbus), Gonzalo Delacámara (IE), Rafael Sánchez (Endesa), Alfonso Vegara (Fundación Metrópoli), Mikel Landabaso (JRC), Gregorio Magno Toral Jiménez (Ciclogreen), Yvonne Flores (FYCMA), Luís Sanz (IASP), Carina Rapetti (Universidad La Salle Barcelona), Juan-Carlos Ciscar (JRC), Luna Moreno (Ingelectus), Pilar Gascón (Inycom), Carmen Adán (La Salle Technova Barcelona), Maria José Herrero Villa (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid) and Josep M. Piqué (La Salle Technova Barcelona).

APTE will have a stand at the congress together with its APTENISA programme for business ideation and acceleration co-financed by the Empresa Nacional de Innovación, SME, SA (ENISA). Moreover, during the congress there will be b2b meetings among the attendees, which have been organised with the support of the Spanish Technological Platform for Disruptive Technologies (DISRUPTIVE), whose technical secretariat depends on APTE, and which is funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation through the State Research Agency.

APTE will also take advantage of the first day of this event, Tuesday 27th, to bring together more than 50 representatives of its member parks in the III General Assembly held by the association this year and to present the awards for the Dissemination of Science and Technology Parks in the Spanish Press.

This award, now in its 5th edition, aims to recognise the work of the print and online media that best disseminate the activities carried out by science and technology parks throughout Spain.

APTE 

The Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (www.apte.org) was created in 1989 as a non-profit association whose main objective is to collaborate, through the promotion and dissemination of science and technology parks, in the renewal and diversification of productive activity, technological progress and economic development. It currently has 61 member parks spread throughout Spain. 51 of them are Member parks, i.e. fully operational, 1 is an Affiliate park that is in the process of development, 1 Honorary Member and finally 8 Collaborating members. In 2021, these parks hosted 8,145 entities with a turnover of 28,004 million euros. These companies employ more than 189,039 people, of which 38,223 are dedicated to R&D.
