Málaga TechPark participates in the first workshop of the European project Innoinvest

This first workshop, entitled ‘ Identification of SMEs, evaluators and designing marketing tools ‘, was moderated by Poznan Science and Technology Park from Poland.

This week, Málaga TechPark has participated in the first virtual workshop of the European project Innoinvest, aimed at SMEs that are in process of launching innovative products or technology (R+D).

Four science and technology parks are working together as partners to investigate and improve the investment process for SMEs innovative technologies/solutions. The project foresees a total of four collaborative work sessions to analyze the current practices of the partners, tools, resources and plans in relation to the investment processes. It is about reducing risk and improving the quality of professional services for SMEs. After each session, the recommendations resulting from these workshops will be delivered.

Each session is divided into two parts. During the first one, the four partners work of the planification of the next stages: Malaga TechPark from Spain, Poznan Science and Technology Park from Poland, WISTA Science and Technology Park from Berlin-Adlershof, and Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol from Estonia, all European parks, members of the IASP, the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation, that has its headquarters in the Malaga Technopolis, identified support tools for entrepreneurs and exposed the reality of their business ecosystem, in particular their strengths and weaknesses.

For the second part of this session, a practical workshop entitled ‘Identification of SMEs, evaluators and designing marketing tools’ was held. Moderated by Poznan Science and Technology Park from Poland, this workshop focused on the design of new messages, and marketing and communication tools to help members of the ecosystems located in science and technology parks to involve SMEs and evaluators in investment processes. Firstly, the three main target groups that may be interested in participating in an investment round were defined: persons with innovative idea, start-ups and scales ups. Then, the participants worked on the design of new messages, and marketing and communication tools.

The main objective of the Innoinvest program is to support entrepreneurs to boost their business processes and develop tools that improve the investment methods of small and medium-sized companies, especially by facilitating the cooperation of SMEs with corporate companies. The project is promoted by the European Commission within the framework of the Horizon 2020 program, which through the INNOSUP call seeks to test new approaches in order to strengthen support for innovation of the European SMEs, improving their innovation management capacity, adopting and seeking correct innovation strategies, and managing their innovation processes by implementing efficient innovation spending.

The Innoinvest project applies the peer learning TWINNING+ methodology. This method enables project partners to receive practical feedback and advice from each other on the implementation of investment programs based on the provision of business assistance in order to empower companies to overcome challenged related to its growth, and products or services of great added value.
