  • Málaga TechPark will be among the more than 200 representatives of science and technology parks and their companies attending the event.
  • Through its participation, it seeks to make visible its contribution to technological progress and economic development.

The Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE) and a delegation including more than 200 representatives from its member parks and companies attended the 13th edition of Transfiere on March 20, 21, and 22 at FYCMA (Trade Fairs & Congress Center of Málaga) with the aim of demonstrating the significant influence of these key ecosystems in facilitating real transfer within the innovation system.

This time, participation was organized through the ‘Transfiere Tracciona’ initiative, which aims to highlight the fundamental role played by intermediary innovation organizations in promoting and transferring knowledge to improve the innovative competitiveness of the national business network.

APTE had a stand where it was joined by the Cartuja Science and Technology Park, the UC3M Science Park – Leganés Tecnológico, Málaga TechPark, the Miguel Hernández University of Elche Science Park, and Tecnoparc, Parc Tecnològic i d’Innovació.

Likewise, the association had a leading role in the content program of the event, inaugurated with the celebration of its Ist General Assembly. On Thursday the 21st, APTE commenced the day in the Innovation Room area with the panel: “Disruptive, the Spanish Technology Platform, a disruptive way to approach knowledge transfer and public-private collaboration”, featuring Soledad Díaz, managing director of APTE, and Ana Ortiz, project and network coordinator at APTE. Afterwards, the official presentation of the APTE Top 100 startups of 2023 will take place at APTE’s stand, showcasing 100 innovative projects created in its 51 science and technology parks in cutting-edge fields ranging from biotechnology to artificial intelligence.

To conclude the day, the Ágora space hosted a Demo Day that put the final touch on the second edition of APTENISA, the ideation and startup acceleration program promoted by APTE and co-financed by Enisa. This successful project has resulted in 100 new business ideas and accelerated 29 startups from 8 science and technology parks located in 6 autonomous communities.

This Demo Day allowed participating startups to present their value proposals to the investor community. Additionally, APTENISA had its own stand at the meeting where the 8 participating parks in the initiative and the accelerated startups will be present. This activity is in line with the Spain Entrepreneurial Nation Strategy (ENE), the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, and entrepreneurship support activities financed with public funds.

On Friday the 22nd, APTE completed its presence at the meeting with the roundtable on “New Models for Boosting Innovation in Spanish Science and Technology Parks” in the Innovation Room. It was moderated by Soledad Díaz, managing director of APTE, and featured speakers such as María Ogayar, responsible for Knowledge Transfer at the Health Technology Park of Granada; Daniel Duran, responsible for innovation at Tecnoparc, Parc Tecnològic i d’Innovació Tecnoparc; and Artemis Rivero, responsible for Knowledge Transfer at the Canarian Foundation Science and Technology Park of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The Spanish Technology Platform for Disruptive Technologies, promoted by APTE and supported by the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities through the State Research Agency, were also present at the agency’s stand along with other platforms. Additionally, a video produced by the DISRUPTIVE Platform was projected. In the video, more than 30 technology platforms explained their focus areas and the activities they carry out to promote R&D+i in Spain.

On another note, it is worth mentioning that out of the 5 finalists of the 82 startups submitted to the Open Call for Deep Tech Start-ups, coordinated with the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) and the European Business Angels Network (EBAN), 3 of them are projects located in science and technology parks that are members of APTE. Hydrospower, based in the Science Park of Alicante, AGPHOTONICS, based in Málaga TechPark, and Nanostine, based in the Science Park of Madrid.

During the event, APTE also brought together its Executive Committee and its Network of Technicians.
