Eurecat Technology Centre has inaugurated Eurecat Innova in Málaga TechPark, the headquarters that will host the joint unit for innovation and technological development launched in collaboration with the Ricardo Valle Institute of Innovation Foundation (Innova IRV). The aim is to provide its capabilities in industrial, digital, biotechnological, and sustainability fields to the business and entrepreneurial ecosystem of Málaga and Andalusia.

The inauguration of the Eurecat Innova headquarters was attended by the mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre; the president of Innova IRV, Ezequiel Navarro, and the president of Eurecat Technology Centre, Daniel Altimiras. The general director of Málaga TechPark and trustee of Innova IRV, Felipe Romera; the general director of Innova IRV, José Manuel Leceta; the Corporate and Operations Director of Eurecat, Xavier López, and the director of Eurecat Innova Málaga, Ignacio de la Vega, also participated in the inauguration.

The president of Eurecat outlined that the new headquarters “will allow Eurecat to bring and offer to the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem of Málaga and Andalusia its highly specialized capabilities to boost the transfer of technological knowledge to companies and society as a whole”.

The proximity of Eurecat to Málaga and Andalusia as a whole “will be key to add and enhance technological innovation as a lever for business competitiveness and social and economic prosperity,” underlined Daniel Altimiras.

The president of Eurecat also stated that Eurecat Innova will help provide “the maximum research and technological development capabilities to transform them into products of high added value and social impact.”

“More technological innovation means more competitiveness, sustainability, and value for society as a whole,” emphasized the president of Eurecat, who insisted on Eurecat Innova’s goal to be an “ally for innovating with inspiration, efficiency, and impact on new processes, products, and services.”

With this inauguration, “Eurecat reaffirms its desire to contribute to the promotion of technological development close to the territories, integrating itself as another actor and in deep collaboration with the innovation ecosystem and the economic and business network,” added Xavier López, Corporate and Operations Director of Eurecat.

In his words, “Eurecat’s success as a technology center comes with the integration of technologies and disciplines that allow addressing complex challenges, thanks to territorial capillarity, proximity, and the establishment of trust relationships, with participation in local ecosystems.”

“Together, we can bring greater differential value to the Málaga ecosystem and, by extension, to that of Andalusia and the whole of the State, based on a clear commitment to talent and the promotion of complementary skills and capacities,” with the aim of “doing so as another agent of the territory, contributing to handle the challenges that companies face and that are shared,” outlined Xavier López, Corporate and Operations Director of Eurecat.

On another note, Ignacio de la Vega, Director of Eurecat Innova Málaga, said that “Thanks to a team of over 750 professionals, Eurecat already provides highly specialized knowledge to more than 2,000 companies across all sectors and sizes, enabling them to become more competitive and sustainable.”

He also pointed out that “Eurecat generates annual revenues over 60 million euros, but the most important aspect is the value it generates for companies, especially SMEs, enabling them to differentiate and grow in a highly competitive global environment.”
