Rogelio Velasco visits IBM’s innovation center at The Green Ray

The Andalusian minister of Economy and president of Málaga TechPark highlights the role of digital technology.

Last Friday, the Andalusian minister of Economy Rogelio Velasco and the Andalusian Councilor for the Presidency, Elías Bendodo, visited the IBM Innovation Center located in The Green Ray, together with the rector of the University of Malaga, José Ángel Narváez, the president of IBM Spain, Horacio Morell, and the general manager of Málaga TechPark, Felipe Romera.

The Green Ray is a space to promote innovative entrepreneurship located in the extension of the University of Malaga campus and managed by the UMA and Málaga TechPark. IBM has a technological innovation center in this building for the development of digital projects and electronic commerce, with national and international projection.

Rogelio Velasco highlighted the growing role that local companies have to assume “in the global context, using technology as a lever for the recovery, consolidation, scaling and success of their businesses.” The Andalusian minister of Economic  defined IBM as “one of the large multinationals that have contributed to the development of communication technologies”, and emphasized the need for product differentiation in the Andalusian business fabric to compete in an increasingly globalized environment.
