Trops becomes a trustee of the Fundación Instituto Ricardo Valle de Innovación, INNOVA IRV

 

  • The incorporation of the cooperative involves the creation of the Agrotech work area, and with Enrique Colilles, general manager of Troops, assuming the vice-presidency.
  • The second Board of Trustees meeting was held, at which progress in the different areas of action was discussed.
  • The new General Manager of the Foundation, Francisca Rubio, and the new CTO, Mario Nemirovsky, were also presented to the trustees.

 

The Fundación Instituto Ricardo Valle de Innovación held its second Board of Trustees meeting since its constitution, with the incorporation of Trops, which inaugurates the Agrotech area, a new area of work whose vice-presidency is assumed by Enrique Colilles, general manager of the avocado and mango company from Málaga.

Trops carries out numerous research and innovation projects, as well as investing in technology along the entire agri-food chain in mango and avocado cultivation, a contribution that will be of great help to the area that Colilles will lead at the Foundation.

The actions that Agrotech intends to carry out include the areas of Precision Agriculture: Decision Support Systems; New Technologies in the Agri-Food Industry and Circular Economy in the Agri-Food Chain

This area completes all the areas already defined: Microelectronics, Cybersecurity, Circular Economy, Aerospace Systems, 5G, Artificial Intelligence, Electric and Connected Vehicle, University-Business Collaboration, Digital Health and Collaboration with Málaga TechPark.

Furthermore, the new General Manager of Innova IRV, Francisca Rubio, and the new CTO, Mario Nemirovsky, were introduced to the trustees at the meeting. Rubio holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Granada, a DEA in Photovoltaic Solar Energy from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and a Diplomarbeit in Microelectronics from the University of Dortmund. In addition, she has more than 20 years of experience in R&D&I and as an innovation manager.

Nemirovsky is a Telecommunications Engineer, Master in Computer Engineering and PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, with experience in US companies and European Research Institutes.

Another item on the agenda was to report on the progress made in the different areas of work created in the Foundation.

 

INNOVA IRV

The Fundación Instituto Ricardo Valle de Innovación is configured as a private foundation that is born as an opportunity to structure the innovation ecosystem with the definition of a new model in the relationship and in the development of projects between companies and the University. A new model of transformation to develop and integrate in the long term the joint efforts of technological innovation based on knowledge, as well as its valorisation and as a paradigm for Andalusia to lead the economic transformation through deep-tech, digitalisation and industry.

Among the aims of INNOVA IRV are to generate a sustained tractor effect on the Spanish economy, to undertake in depth the green and digital transformation, to contribute to the creation of high added value jobs and to maximise the impact of R&D&I capabilities developed by the centre, reaching 930 highly qualified direct jobs and 2,084 indirect jobs in 2026.

It is a technology centre for applied research and technological innovation, oriented towards three linked areas with high potential for the development and market application of the following technologies: Microelectronics and, more specifically, microprocessors; Digital Technologies, which include Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Connected Vehicle, 5G+; and Digital Technologies applied to Industry 4.0, Aerospace Systems, Digital Health and Circular Economy.

The founders of the Fundación Instituto Ricardo Valle de Innovación, INNOVA IRV, are the Consejería de Transformación Económica, Industria, Conocimiento y Universidades, the Ayuntamiento de Málaga, Mayoral, Fundación Sando and Grupo Myramar.

Among the collaborating entities participating in this project are Accenture, Premo, Dekra, Google, Aeorum, Tupl, Endesa, Tinamica, Simon, Top Digital, Málaga TechPark, Ametic, Orange, Ericsson, Vodafone, Esesa, Aertec, Bic Euronova, Famadesa, Trops, Unicaja, Universidad de Málaga, Universidad de Sevilla, Universidad de Granada, Junta de Andalucía, Ayuntamiento de Málaga and Diputación de Málaga.
